Emilie Scientific, Inc. (“Emilie” “us” or “we”) wants to protect the privacy of Personal Data. Through our “Emilie Scientific” platform (the “Platform”) and the website located at and any successor site (the “Site”), we give you digital tools discover, learn about, pre-qualify for, and provide consent to clinical trials. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose “Data” via the Platform, Site and related services (collectively, the “Services”). As used in this policy, “Data” means Personal Data and Usage Data.

In the event you suffer a research-related injury, this Privacy Policy will not preclude you from seeking to collect compensation for injury related to malpractice, fault, or blame on the part of those involved in the research.

On occasion, a survey or other activity you encounter on the Platform in connection with a specific trial may have a different privacy policy associated with it. Such trial-specific privacy policy will take precedence over this Privacy Policy, but only in relation to that specific trial.


People under the age of 18 must not use the Services. We do not knowingly collect or ask for Personal Data from anyone 13 years old or younger. We do not knowingly allow such persons to register on the Services. If we learn that we have collected Personal Data from anyone younger than 13, we will do what’s reasonable to delete that Personal Data. A parent or guardian of a minor child can request that we delete the Personal Data of the minor.

We are not a health care provider or insurance provider. The Services do not provide health care services of any type.


Data That You Give Us

We collect Personal Data that you give us. Personal Data is information that leaves a reasonable basis to identify you. Personal Data includes your name, email address, address, phone number, and birth date. Personal Data also includes the personal medical information you choose to give us when completing surveys and other activities via the Services.

Data Created Automatically

We collect Usage Data that is created automatically when you use the Services. Usage Data comes in many forms:

Data about your use of the Services. Examples: Your activities within the Platform and the length of time that you are logged in through the Platform.

Unique identifiers such as your mobile device ID and the IP address when you are using the Services.

As a general matter, these groups use cookies, pixel tags or other methods to collect and store anonymous data about you. We do not determine how these groups use such data. We are not liable to you for the actions of these third parties.

We do not collect Data about your location while using the Services. We may do so at some point in the future. We will ask you for consent before collecting such data.

  • To provide you with the Services. This includes using Data to check your eligibility for clinical trials and your recruitment into these trials.
  • To communicate with you about being recruited for or participating in clinical trials.
  • To communicate with you about your registration or transactions with us.
  • To send you news about the features of the Services or changes to our policies.
  • To personalize the Services, content, experiences, and advertising.
  • To find, look into and avoid activities that may violate our policies or be illegal.
  • To improve the content, products, services, and features of the Services.
  • To increase the functionality and user-friendliness of the Services
  • To deliver content or features that match user profiles or interests.
  • To watch and study the Services usage and trends and otherwise measure the effectiveness of the Services.

We may send you offers for our other products and services. We will give you an option to opt-out of offers of this type. You may still get messages to help you with your password, inform you of changes to our policies, or to help you with requests you make.

Do Not Track (DNT) is a privacy preference that users can set in some web browsers. DNT allows users to opt out of tracking by websites and online services. We and the Services do not recognize DNT.


We will not share Data with others except as stated in this Privacy Policy. We may share Data:

  • When we contract with a third party to provide services to us or you. Examples of this include services that process your electronic consents or that help us make and provide the Services.

No Personal Data will be included in aggregate or de-identified data. We use aggregate or de-identified data to see trends and user needs. It gives us insight into new products and services. You agree that we may use and share aggregate or de-identified data for any lawful purpose. You agree no one will pay you, in cash or in kind, for Data.

We cannot guarantee Data will not be intercepted illegally.

We keep Data for the length of time we need to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required. We may also keep Data to make or defend against legal claims, for valid businesses purposes, or as provided by law.
